Young Playwrights Project

ATC's annual Young Playwrights Project is for Middle and High School Students anywhere, but we especially would like to read scripts from NJ teens!

Our youngest winner had just entered Middle School. She was 10! So age is not necessarily a factor.

2019: brave new world

ATC is thrilled to announce the winners for our 2019 Young Playwrights Project, Brave New World! Videos are here!

1st Place: A Moment of Silent Meditation by Aidan Mascoli

2nd Place: Riches to Ramen by Christian Storm

3rd Place: Beyond Infinity by Matthew Lee

Congratulations to all Finalists, and thank you to everyone who entered. We had over 50 submissions this year and we encourage you to keep writing!

The Theme for 2020 will be announced this summer. Here is an outline of the process:
Scripts will be read and evaluated by professionals and teachers. From all submissions, 10-12 will be selected for public performance and cast and produced through ATC. The audience and a panel of “judges” composed of professional theater personnel, will select three to be featured on the internet: the chosen pieces could be seen around the world!
