Voice Acting (Voice Over)
The days of the "big voice" announcer are gone. Today's voice work centers around story telling. We break down scripts as short plays and delve into objectives, relationships, deciphering the writer's direction encoded in the script. Students are prepared for today's world of voicework. Basic technical aspects including mic types, audio file types,  home studio setups are covered as well. Commercials, promos, and some character work are explored. *Successful completion of at least Intro to Acting, Monologue, or by audition and/or invitation.  COURSE IS ONLINE.

Elevate your performance and storytelling abilities through this unique and engaging dialect class.

Directing

Learn how to approach a script as a director, work with actors, develop a vocabulary to get results.  At least Intro to Acting is required for this course, and we encourage aspiring directors to take as many acting classes as possible. Those who have taken this class may be offered the opportunity to direct scenes that will be presented throughout the year. Past students from this class are now directing regionally and in NYC and hail the techniques learned at ATC as intrinsic and invaluable to their directing process. This class may be scheduled in a "non-traditional" time slot.  Night-workers and high school/college students may find this works great for them!

Playwriting

MULTI-LEVELED CLASS— The course meets writers where they are, writing what interests them. The in-class critiques are invaluable, and your writing will step to the next level. Do you have a story you need to tell?  Do you have an idea that has been percolating in your head for awhile that you’ve wanted to put on the page? Or do you simply want to dabble in the world of dramatic writing? Whatever your writing level, this six week online class is for you.  Through our weekly ZOOM classes, we will explore topics such as structure, dialogue, conflict and character development.  All of which are the building blocks that will help you craft your own new play. Whether you want to write one-acts or full-lengths, ten-minute plays or musicals, this class will help give you the tools to finish that script and see your work live on stage in front of a live audience.
