You are learning to build a character from the outside in and the inside out. Now use those same techniques to map the uncharted territory of you. Source Work is a new adult course where your craft becomes the tool for consciously creating your next greatest self.
The Starting Point - Where you are now
ATC students explore how to build a character using both external and internal techniques. You learn to identify objectives, intentions, construct an interior life, and bring an entirely new human being into existence on the stage. Source Work takes that exact toolkit — the one you are building for your acting — and turns the compass around.. Same methods. New subject: yourself.
The Journey
This isn't a departure from actor training. It's an extension of it. The techniques you’ve used to consciously create a character are now applied to the most complex role you'll ever inhabit: YOU: who you have been, who you are, and who you are becoming. The creative act doesn't change — only the terrain does.
The Landscape
Through workshops, exercises, and exploration, you’ll examine the belief systems, interior narratives, and self-conceptions you may never have thought to chart — because no one ever cast YOU as the subject. You'll use the same imaginative processes you bring to a scene to investigate, challenge, and ultimately re-draw your own story.
Who It's For
Adult students who have begun the building of an acting technique and are ready to turn that same courageous curiosity inward. Those who suspect that the next leap in their artistry isn't about learning a new technique — it's about going deeper into the instrument that drives all of them.
The Outcome (but NOT the destination)
You know we will never promise you a result. That will be up to how you tackle the work. Likely benefits? A richer, more self-aware artist. A more conscious, intentional human being. And the revelation that those two things were never separate to begin with.
